Hazard Test

After completing the first section of the Theory Test (multiple choice) you will take a short break before commencing a Hazard Perception Test. A short instructional video will be shown on how the Hazard Perception works before commencing the test.

There are 14 film clips in the test: each is one minute long and all have been shot from the driver’s point of view inside a car, looking out of the windscreen. Each film clip contains at least one developing hazard. The main objective is to respond to the developing hazards as quickly as possible by clicking the mouse as soon as you see it: the quicker the response, the higher the points scored. To pass this section you must obtain a minimum of 44 out of 75 points. Each clip has a maximum of 5 points each.

The results of the test will be given to you immediately after both sections have been completed and you will be issued with a theory test certificate, without which you cannot take the practical test. After completing the theory test you will have 2 years to complete the practical test.
